Committed to Your Health | A Message from CEO Dave Ressler
Thanks to the generosity of our community’s support, Aspen Valley Hospital offers high-quality healthcare services to our patients in the hospital, in our clinics and in our various locations throughout Aspen, Snowmass Village and Basalt. Our services are consistently ranked among the best in the nation, based on patient experience and feedback, and we are fortunate to support our highly trained and committed physicians and staff with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Most recently, we opened our newly renovated Aspen Valley Primary Care clinic (featured in this issue), at the Midvalley Health Institute, and we are expecting the fourth and final phase of our hospital expansion in Aspen to be completed late next spring. Our hospital’s new front lobby will feature a more convenient patient registration area filled with lots of natural light and located close to many of our outpatient services.
We strive to provide the safest and highest quality healthcare services possible, and to maintain the health and vitality of our community as an essential part of our ultimate vision to be the healthiest community in the nation. However, we are also aware of the fact that there are those in our community who don’t have access to the healthcare they need for lack of affordable insurance coverage. This situation has been made worse over the past 18 months when Medicaid disqualified participants who had formerly been able to remain on the rolls through the pandemic. Aspen Valley Hospital and our partners in the Valley Health Alliance (VHA) have been working together to create affordable options for individual coverage through our partnership with Rocky Mountain Health Plans and Connect for Health Colorado.
Open enrollment for 2025 through Connect for Health Colorado started on November 1st and continues through January 15, 2025. If you or a friend or family member want more information about the enrollment process and the options available to you, including potential subsidies, more information is available here. We also provide additional information in this issue of our enewsletter. With over half million Coloradans now finding themselves without coverage, we and the VHA are committed to helping our community members find solutions that work for them. Good health, after all, requires access to quality healthcare through affordable coverage options.
This month, we also remind you that November is Movember, a global movement to raise awareness for men’s health, and what that means for you and the men in your life. November is also Diabetes Awareness Month, and we have some important dietary and lifestyle considerations for anyone managing their condition.
On behalf of Aspen Valley Hospital, our physicians, our staff and our elected board of directors, I wish every member of our community good health as we enter the holiday season.
