BIO

Dr. Carey Levin, MD was born in Albuquerque, NM, raised mostly on the Front Range and Carbondale, CO. She is a graduate of CRMS in Carbondale. Dr. Levin obtained an undergraduate degree in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology and psychology from CU. After graduating from college, she joined a rural community health center in Northern California working as an MA and community health outreach worker. Inspired and overwhelmed by the people living in those rural communities and the lack of healthcare access they experienced, she left to become a doctor with the intention of returning to a rural community with the skills necessary to meet some of the community needs. As a medical student at the University of California, Davis, she engaged in projects designed to bring young primary care doctors to rural areas. Dr. Levin completed her pediatric residency at The University of California, San Francisco, in a specialized training program for underserved medicine, PLUS (Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved) Program.
