BIO

Dr. Catherine Chamberlin, DO, is a family medicine doctor who joined the team at Aspen Valley Hospital in 2023. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and provides primary care at Aspen Valley Primary Care’s offices in Aspen and in Basalt. Dr. Chamberlin spent eight years practicing family medicine in rural western and central Maine at HealthReach Community Health Centers, where she also served as assistant medical director. Her experience as a family practitioner runs from newborns to centenarians. Her oldest patient in Maine is 105. Because her mother died at a too-young age, Dr. Chamberlin has a special place in her heart for helping older women stay healthy and active. She has four children and loves to practice pediatrics. She also brings experience treating and prescribing medications to people struggling with substance abuse disorders. Dr. Chamberlin graduated from Dartmouth College in 2003 and went on to earn her DO from the University of New England in 2011. She then completed her residency at Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency. Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Chamberlin taught mountaineering, climbing, ice climbing and survival skills. She is a longstanding member of the Wilderness Medical Society. In addition to her passion for the backcountry, Dr. Chamberlin enjoys endurance racing, road cycling and open water swimming. She grew up in a family of physicians and was drawn to Aspen Valley Hospital by its tightly knit community of providers who work together to care for their patients.
