Katie Fielding, RN, BSN

BIO

Katie Fielding has spent most of her career as a registered nurse at Aspen Valley Hospital, joining staff after graduating with a bachelor of science in nursing from Xavier University in 2002. Prior to taking a position in the cardiac rehab unit in 2022, she worked on the Hospital’s patient care unit and ICU, and oversaw nursing operations as a house supervisor. She has also provided staff and patient education and worked in staff development. Katie left the valley in the early 2000s to advance her critical care training as a nurse at an open heart unit in Louisville, Kentucky, but missed the mountains and returned a few years later. She has completed her certification as a transformational nurse coach from The Nurse Coach Collective, which aligns with her passion for helping patients through their personal journeys by exploring meaningful and sustainable changes that can enhance their quality of life. She employs breathwork and mindset exploration as tools for patients in classes at the Hospital, and encourages them to continue to use those strategies in daily life. Outside of work, she stays busy with her two young children and husband and dogs. She loves hiking, snowboarding, paddle boarding, dancing, camping, swimming, reading and listening to her wind chimes at her home on Missouri Heights.
