BIO

Before joining the Whitcomb Terrace family in 2008, I had friends who lived here and actually talked one in to moving in and became her local contact since her family lived out of the area. With other musical friends, I assisted with bringing music to the holiday party. Several of those friends still join to celebrate in song at our annual gathering.

My favorite part of working here is one-on-one opportunities with the residents. There are so many dimensions to the men and women we care for. When experiences and history are shared, amazing lives are uncovered.

I also love seeing the participation that comes from our greater community. Our residents are blessed with music from the Aspen Music Festival and School, here and on their campus. Many young people choose to spend volunteer hours here. It’s beautiful to watch the forming of intergenerational relationships.

The size of Whitcomb Terrace differentiates it from other facilities. We are small enough to function like a family and the majority of the staff have been here for many years, we have developed strong bonds with our residents and with one another.

The strength of the Whitcomb Terrace staff is not individual. We are a team and regularly fill in the gaps for each other. The most common question asked around here is, “How can I help?”  or “Where do you need me?”

When not at Whitcomb Terrace, I enjoy participating in local theatrical productions and old Crystal Palace friends at the Wheeler near the holidays. Outside is always appealing. I love to hike, run, swim, ski — all the regular CO activities.

If I had a qualifying parent, I would not hesitate to have her or him live here. I have never been in an elder care facility of any sort that has this same feeling.
