Dr. Michael Murphy has been practicing Ophthalmology at Aspen Valley Hospital since the beginning of 2017. Dr. Murphy graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1990. After completing his residency in Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, he pursued advanced fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Iowa. He returned to the Medical College of Wisconsin and joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. Prior to coming to Aspen, Dr. Murphy worked in private practice and served as President of the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology. He attended the American Academy of Ophthalmology Leadership Development Program and earned the Academy’s Achievement Award. In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is also a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Murphy treats patients of all ages. When he is not working, he enjoys being outside in the natural world, hiking, cycling, Nordic skiing, and Alpine ski mountaineering.
