Dr. Michelle Miscione is a behavioral health specialist at Aspen Valley Primary Care. She joined the practice in fall 2020, prior to which she was on staff full-time at Aspen Valley Hospital for six years. Dr. Miscione provides counseling for patients referred by primary care physicians throughout the valley. She completed her doctorate in social welfare in 2013 at the Yeshiva University Wurzweiler School of Social Work, where she researched couples living with advanced lung cancer diagnosis and the effects on their relationships. She began her career as an oncology social worker in 2000 in New York City after earning her masters degree in social work at Yeshiva University, working at Continuum Cancer Centers of NYC and New York University Langone Medical Center’s Perlmutter Cancer Center. In the Roaring Fork Valley, Dr. Miscione counsels oncology patients and families as well as those living with other chronic illnesses, confronting a life transition, or dealing with grief, anxiety and/or depression. She also works with patients on end-of-life issues, including advanced directives. Dr. Miscione lives in the Aspen area with her son and husband, sharing a passion for the host of outdoor activities available year round. She feels at home with the relaxed culture and strong sense of community
