BIO

Dr. Nathalia Dolan joined the emergency department at Aspen Valley Hospital in the summer of 2021. A native of London, England, Dr. Dolan received her BA and MA in law from Oxford University and her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She went on to complete her medical residency at Dartmouth, where she served as chief resident. During her time at Columbia and Dartmouth, she trained at some of the country’s most high acuity hospitals, including New York Presbyterian/Weil Cornell Medical Center, Harlem Hospital and the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Dr. Dolan comes to AVH through a unique path, starting with a visit to the emergency room as a patient several years ago, which subsequently inspired her to volunteer there. Her early experiences at AVH, coupled with volunteer work with an orphanage in Nepal, motivated her to pursue a medical degree, and specifically train in emergency medicine and rural-based care. Dr. Dolan has given presentations and written papers on gender in medicine, wilderness medicine, the psychological effects of first response work, frostbite protocols and firefighter education. Outside of work, Dr. Dolan enjoys the plentiful cultural and outdoor activities available in the Roaring Fork Valley. She lives in Aspen with her husband, son and two springer spaniels.
