Dr. Sandra Horvath-Dori is a rheumatologist who joined the team at Aspen Valley Hospital in 2023. Dr. Horvath-Dori brings many years of experience in both academic and private practice settings to help her patients manage and treat their rheumatologic autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis. Her style as a practitioner is to work with patients to help them understand their conditions and create a treatment plan that helps them accomplish their life goals, stay as active as possible and lead normal, fulfilling lives. Dr. Horvath-Dori studied medicine from 1984-1990 at the University of Pécs, in Hungary. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine in 1994 and practiced as an internist until 1997. That year she began a two-year fellowship in rheumatology at Augusta University in Georgia, and subsequently spent an additional year there as a member of the faculty. Dr. Horvath-Dori is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in rheumatology. Much of her career has been spent in western Colorado, where she has set up rheumatology clinics and worked for practices and hospitals in Montrose, Grand Junction and Fruita. Since 2018 she has provided rheumatology care at a variety of medical facilities around the country through locum tenens assignments. Dr. Horvath-Dori currently lives in Grand Junction, where access to outdoor recreation and beautiful scenery allows her to indulge her favorite pastimes of skiing, snowshoeing, riding bicycles and horses, and photography. She is fluent in English and Hungarian.
