Blood Drives with St. Mary's Hospital

Life is found in giving. Give blood. Give life.

Blood donation costs you nothing but your time, and it saves lives.

At Aspen Valley Hospital, we make it easy to donate blood by bringing the St. Mary’s Mobile Blood Bank to you. During blood drive events, the Mobile Blood Bank parks just outside of the Emergency Entrance at Aspen Valley Hospital. Make plans to join one of our events. You’ll find the calendar of upcoming blood drives below.

Please note the new guidelines for blood donations with St. Mary’s Mobile Blood Bank:

  • Donation is by appointment only — donors can sign up online or call St. Mary’s at 970-298-2555.
  • Registration will be outside of the bloodmobile. We will have a table and chairs for everyone.
  • Temperatures will be taken prior to registration.
  • Masks will be required of all donors and staff.
  • Hand sanitizer will be used before entering blood mobile and before leaving.
  • All surfaces will be wiped down between donors.

Want to donate blood on your own schedule?

St. Mary’s Regional Blood Center is open and accepting donations Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am – 12 noon at 750 Wellington Avenue, Entrance 26, in Grand Junction.

Healthy donors can make an appointment to donate blood by clicking here or by calling us at 970-298-2555.

Interested in donating plasma for COVID-19 reserach?

As of mid April, St. Mary’s Regional Blood Center is beginning the collection of COVID positive patient plasma.

Donors must meet several criteria established by the Food and Drug Administration, the first of which is to have already received a confirmed COVID positive test result. The Regional Blood Center can only accept confirmed positive COVID donors who have had no symptoms for at least 14 days. Once established, a second test will be administered, and if negative, then the plasma can be drawn.

Interested donors are encouraged to email their name and contact information to convalescentplasma@sclhealth.org or call 303-813-5230 to begin the pre-screening process. A screener will contact you to establish the remaining criteria.
