We continually collect and monitor data to measure how we are doing, identify opportunities for improvement, implement improvements and measure progress.
Aspen Valley Hospital voluntarily participates in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) public data reporting processes in quality of care measures that allow us to receive benchmark data and compare ourselves to other hospitals across the country. The Core Measure score shows the percentage of patients who received the recommended care for all of the measures they were eligible to receive. The national target is to achieve 90% compliance.
This report measures care of patients with diagnoses such as heart attack, pneumonia and heart failure. Each condition has scientific, evidence-based practices that have been proven to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
CMS’ Care Compare website and The Joint Commission Quality Check website are interactive and allow you to search for the hospitals and the specific information in which you are interested. Each condition also contains a definition. At times, you will note that Aspen Valley Hospital has too few cases for a score. However, the Hospital tracks compliance for the cases it does have.
