BIO

Dr. Brian Bost, MD, MPH, FAAP is a hospitalist who joined the team at Aspen Valley Hospital in 2023. As a med-peds physician who is board-certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Bost is trained to provide care to both children and adult patients. Dr. Bost graduated in 2005 from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and then completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency program at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts. Dr. Bost spent an additional year of residency at the only hospital that serves the Soweto Township of Johannesburg, South Africa; the 3,000 bed Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. Since completing residency, Dr. Bost has practiced as a med-peds hospitalist, including ten years in Denver, and three years in Montana. In 2015, Dr. Bost earned his master’s degree in public health from the University of Massachusetts. He has used his medical skills and public health background to improve local healthcare systems both domestically and overseas. In the United States, he developed an integrated care program for transgender patients, and created a virtual care coordination program for children with complex medical conditions who live in rural communities. Overseas he has worked to improve healthcare delivery and increase the skill level of healthcare workers in countries including Kenya, Cambodia, Haiti and Zambia. In his role at Aspen Valley Hospital, Dr. Bost is focused on ensuring that patients and their families know what to expect during their hospital course and to make their experience as comfortable as possible. He was drawn to Aspen by the opportunity to work at a hospital that is truly part of the community. As a longtime visitor to the Roaring Fork Valley, he likes the variety of hiking options and ability to escape crowds in the surrounding wilderness by day, and then have great dining options in the evening.
