BIO

Dr. Chris Beck has been an anesthesiologist at Aspen Valley Hospital since 2005. Dr. Beck has served as medical director of anesthesia services since 2007 and is currently chair of the surgery department. Previously he served as president of the medical staff. Dr. Beck also practiced at Grand River Health Center in Rifle from 2005–2011, and at the Midvalley Surgery Center in Basalt from 2005–2020. Dr. Beck and his colleagues have developed a philosophy of care in the anesthesia department that prioritizes non-opioid pain management, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, and perioperative patient safety protocols to help ensure patients experience the best possible recovery from surgery and anesthesia. Dr. Beck graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed his residency in anesthesiology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in 2005. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He and his wife have raised three children in the Roaring Fork Valley, where they have all thrived.
