Mr. Eisenstat joined the Aspen Valley Hospital Board of Directors in May 2013. He is a retired senior partner of the law firm Akin, Gump, Stauss, Hauer & Feld, LLP, based in Washington, DC. He headed the firm’s health industry department from 1981 to 2007 when he retired, and then served as a consultant to the firm through 2012. Mr. Eisenstat represented major academic medical centers, healthcare systems, community hospitals, specialty hospitals, and various other healthcare-related enterprises throughout the course of his career. In 2006 he was named by Nightingale’s Healthcare News as one of 10 “Outstanding Hospital Lawyers” in the U.S. Mr. Eisenstat has served on the Hospital’s Audit Committee since 2007, chaired the 2016 CEO search committee, and currently chairs the Hospital’s Compensation Committee.
