BIO

Jill Kennedy is Director of Trauma Services at Aspen Valley Hospital and an RN in the Hospital’s Level III Trauma Center. She has worked at the Hospital since 2004 in the role of Charge Nurse and Clinical Resource Coordinator in the emergency department. As a registered nurse with training and clinical proficiency in the care of trauma patients, Jill serves as the care coordinator and advocate of healthcare services for all trauma patients, from admission to discharge, coordinating multidisciplinary care with various departments and providers. She also leads staff education about trauma treatment and services, as well community outreach and injury prevention. Her administrative role in AVH’s Trauma Services includes oversight of clinical care guidelines; the performance improvement and patient safety program; peer review and multidisciplinary meetings; state trauma registry; and national/state regulatory compliance. After graduating from Villanova University, Jill began her nursing career working at the University of Pennsylvania’s hospital in the cardiothoracic surgery department, which included heart and lung transplant patients. She went on to work as an emergency department travel nurse at hospitals in New York, Boston and San Francisco before landing in Aspen. She appreciates the opportunity to live and work in a community that strives to be healthy, and she takes pleasure in all the activities the valley has to offer. She’s also grateful for the outstanding medical services available at Aspen Valley Hospital and its clinics throughout the valley.
