Childbirth Preparation Series
This is a three-week series of classes covering labor, delivery, relaxation, anesthesia, C-section, postpartum, breastfeeding and newborn care.
Express Childbirth Preparation Class
This is a one day class version of our three-week Childbirth Preparation Class for busy parents or parents who simply need a refresher.
C-Section Class
This one-night class discusses medical interventions and anesthesia as you prepare for your Cesarean delivery, as well as post-operative care. Be prepared, be knowledgeable, and be ready to enjoy your baby as soon as he/she arrives! Note: This information is also covered in our Childbirth Preparation Series and Express classes.
The Art of Breastfeeding
In this expanded class, a certified lactation counselor helps you prepare for and master the art of breastfeeding. Note: This information is also covered in our Childbirth Preparation Series and Express classes.
Friends and Family CPR
Learn infant, child and adult CPR from a certified instructor. It’s great for grandparents and care providers, too. Note: This class does not provide a certification.
V.I.P. Sibling Class
For children ages 2-6 and their expectant parents. Includes a tour of the hospital, role play, safety topics, story time, snack and a T-shirt. Children older than six who are interested in a complimentary tour, may call ahead to schedule with Valerie at 970.544.1130.
First Year and First Aid
This class presents fundamentals of parenting, from early bonding, developmental activities, parenting challenges, creating safe environments, and “how-to’s” for basic first aid.
Newborn Necessities
This class covers specific care of newborns in the first month, including baby basics such as: diapering, burping, swaddling, breastfeeding, car seats and immunizations. As we know, babies don’t come with a set of instructions! Designed for parents, grandparents, and infant care providers. Note: This information is also covered in our Childbirth Preparation Series and Express classes. It does not include CPR.
Our team has put together a resource library of helpful handouts, which may be referred to during our Childbirth Education class(es). They are also available as references for families seeking more information about these important topics!

View CalendarOut of an abundance of caution, and in order to protect staff, patients and our expecting families, Aspen Valley Hospital is limiting some services to locations, to help limit potential exposure to coronavirus, COVID-19. In an effort to maintain Aspen Valley Hospital’s operational status, there are changes to our Childbirth Education class offerings and registrations.
We are pleased to announce we have resumed some live class offerings, in a very safe way. This includes limiting class sizes, using spaces that allow for six feet of physical distancing, and requiring all participants to wear masks. ZOOM classes will continue to be an option, live and interactive.
We are currently offering private tours of the Aspen Birth Center and OB Pre-Admission Navigations with a nurse, by appointment only.
