Dr. Betsy Brew is a general surgeon who has been practicing at Aspen Valley Hospital since 2015. She played an instrumental role in opening Aspen Valley Hospital’s Breast Center in 2018, and she continues to work at the Breast Center treating female and male patients with breast cancer and other conditions. Dr. Brew has spent her entire career practicing in Colorado. After earning her medical degree at Brown University in 1989, she moved to Denver for her residency and surgical training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. During her time at UC, she also completed the university’s highly regarded two-year fellowship in trauma research. Dr. Brew began practicing medicine and performing surgery in 1996 in Golden with Surgical Specialists of Colorado, which allowed her to work with patients as a visiting surgeon at hospitals in the greater Denver area and the Roaring Fork Valley. She now practices full time at Aspen Valley Hospital and is a member of the Aspen Valley Surgical Specialists team. Dr. Brew and her husband were married in Aspen in 1991. They raised three children on the Front Range and spent many weekends in the mountains. They moved to Aspen in 2019. She appreciates the circle of life that has allowed her to live in Aspen and practice at the Hospital with great people who are tremendously supportive. She loves mountain biking, hiking and other adventures available out her backdoor.
