BIO

Kate Moyer is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked in behavioral health services at Aspen Valley Hospital since 2020. Kate is an Aspen native who began her career in the arts, after earning a bachelor’s degree in art history from University of St. Andrews in Scotland and masters degree in design studies from Parsons/The New School for Social Research in New York City. While working at an art gallery in New York City, Kate began volunteering for a hospice agency, which led her to pursue a career as a medical social worker. She graduated with a masters in social work in 2020 from Fordham University, where she was selected for the highly competitive Palliative Care Fellowship. She also worked as an intern in social work with Memorial Sloan Kettering in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She moved back to Aspen after graduating and began as the Hospital’s behavioral health coordinator. In 2022 she shifted her focus to program development to support the Hospital as it expands behavioral health services to engage more patients in the Hospital. And in 2023, she took on the role of Behavioral Health Specialist at Aspen Valley Primary Care, integrating behavioral health services on an outpatient basis for primary care patients. Kate is glad to have the opportunity to work as a medical social worker, and grow behavioral health service offerings in the community where she grew up.
