Ways to Help

We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from the community as our staff focuses their efforts on caring for their patients, colleagues and neighbors during this challenging time.

Thank you for your support! Here are some specific ways you can help.

#1 Way to Help

Please practice social distancing and stay home if you are sick! We can all do our part and follow the Five Commitments to Containment and reduce the number of exposures to COVID-19.

Monetary Donations

A gift to Aspen Valley Hospital’s Emergency Fund will aid our efforts on every front as we work together to defeat COVID-19 and care for our community. Monetary gifts give the Hospital the greatest flexibility to direct funding where it is needed most — staffing, supplies, technology and equipment are all areas where funds are needed.

Make a Donation Online

Or, you can call the Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation office at 970-544-1302 to make a gift by phone. Checks can be made payable to Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation Emergency Fund and mailed to: 0401 Castle Creek Road, Aspen, CO 81611. ATTN: AVH Foundation Emergency Fund. For any questions about donations, please feel free to call us at 970-544-1302 or email us at avhf@aspenhospital.org.

Supplies and Equipment Donations

Aspen Valley Hospital’s Materials Management team has worked diligently to ensure we have medical-grade masks and other Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for our medical personnel. We are gladly accepting donations of N95 masks in their original, factory-sealed packages on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm at the Hospital’s loading dock. Call the Foundation office at 970-544-1302 for information on how to donate homemade masks, or if you need assistance with coordinating your donation or determining if we are able to accept your donation.

Food Donations

Many of our gracious community members have expressed wanting to provide meals for our staff, many of whom are working around the clock to maintain full operational readiness at Aspen Valley Hospital. At this time, we are not accepting food donations from community members due to health and safety reasons. If you would like your donation to support feeding our hospital staff, we ask that you consider making a monetary contribution to the Hospital’s “Feeding the Frontlines” fund.

Donate to “Feeding the Frontlines” Fund

This fund will only be used for providing meals to our staff through our food services department and department of health-inspected commercial kitchens at local restaurants.

Please respect our request and do not bring food donations to the hospital campus.

Blood Donations

Blood drives are once again scheduled at Aspen Valley Hospital. They are made possible with the use of St. Mary’s Blood Mobile out of Grand Junction. Visit our “Classes & Events” page for more information on upcoming blood drives. During this time, St. Mary’s Regional Blood Center in Grand Junction is open and is accepting donations Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, at 750 Wellington Avenue, Entrance 26 in Grand Junction, Colo. Healthy donors can make an appointment to donate blood by calling St. Mary’s at 970-298-2555.

Volunteering

Aspen Valley Hospital has maintained a full complement of essential staff, as well as leveraged regional and state resources to care for COVID-19 patients. At this point, we are asking for community members to stay home and follow all public health orders — this is truly the most impactful way for everyone to contribute. If you have medical training, with current certifications, please reach out to Beverly Patera (bpatera@aspenhospital.org) as she is developing a list of volunteers and their applicable skill sets should the Hospital need to deploy a community-wide call to action in the event of a surge that is not able to be managed with our current resources.

Thank you!

We want the community to know how touched we are by the support we’ve already received, and also want to ask for your understanding of the limitations on what we can and cannot accept in terms of donations of supplies, time and food. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you — knowing we have such strong support from our friends, family and neighbors is paramount to our success in battling this crisis. For questions on any donations, please feel free to contact the Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation office at 970-544-1302 or email us at avhf@aspenhospital.org.
