The Sophistication of a Major Medical Center in the Heart of a Friendly Mountain Town

As a designated Level III Trauma Center, Aspen Valley Hospital stands ready to help in case of an emergency. Our board-certified ER physicians are available 24/7, and their expertise along with a full scope of diagnostic capabilities ensure the best care when it is needed most.

Aspen Valley Hospital’s sophisticated suite of diagnostic imaging technology, including a digital network that allows immediate access to 40 off-site radiology specialists in Denver, is complemented by our around-the-clock, state-of-the-art laboratory that provides a broad scope of lab services that allow for rapid diagnosis, so effective treatment may begin as soon as possible.

There are 16 patient beds in the department, including five private exam rooms equipped with negative pressure technology to contain airborne infectious diseases, two critical care rooms and a large trauma room. A full-time hospitalist, board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, supports emergency physicians and other specialists with consultations and admissions.

Admission is done bedside at a time when medical attention and patient comfort is the first priority.

We are Prepared

A hospital-based ambulance service provides leading-edge pre-hospital care, and registered nursing staff have advanced training in trauma care. In the event transfer to another facility is required, an FAA-approved helipad is on the hospital campus.

Turns out I had Covid for the third time at age 79. Whoopie. It was not a big surprise but they diagnosed me and gave me some medicine and were really nice and very slick and professional and I was impressed. This is a fancy hospital, it ...looks like they opened it two days ago it’s so clean. I have nothing negative to say about it whatsoever. They were excellent. Read More

There I was, minding my own damn business on a hike with my dogs and SOMETHING came out of nowhere, coming between my foot and my Chaco Sandals, trying to remove the pinkie toe off of my left foot. Of course I was by myself so a little b...it of field medicine involving cutting my shirt sleeve off of my favorite shirt to hold my toe to my foot, a lot of panic and the world's worst drive off of Independence Pass, I found myself hobbling into the ER. I was lucky I was at the end of my hike, or I would have been screaming so loud to get help that every damn bear and moose in the country would have come to help, just to shut me up. I must apologize, I did not mean to kick at the nurse when she was trying to administer the numbing medicine, I tried to stop myself!! Thank you for being patient. Then my foot twitching when somebody came into the room, I cannot explain it and I swear I was not trying to be difficult. To the guys at the desk, thank you for taking care of my dogs and moving my vehicle. How was it driving a vehicle older than all of you combined? When I came back a few weeks later to get the stitches removed, I figured out that once a person hits 40, their pain tolerance vanishes. I would have been in earlier, but my dog decided to smell porcupines so I was busy with that fun time. I swore the nurse was stabbing my foot each time she was taking the stitches out. It did not help that I am already dealing with other medical stuff that is making me into the world's biggest baby. Everyone here is amazing, and I hope I do not have to see any of you again.
